Fire Chief James Casey, Member Since 1980

Chief Casey grew up in Labadie area and currently lives in Villa Ridge with his wife. He has 3 step children, 3 grandchildren, 6 brothers & sisters and more nieces and nephews than you can count.

Growing up in a family where his father responded to emergency calls while his mother manned the emergency radio, it seemed only natural at the age of 18 for the young Jim Casey to become a volunteer firefighter with the Boles Fire Protection District.

Chief Casey came up through the ranks. First, as firefighter, then as engineer, then Captain at Station2. He then became District Deputy Chief and in September 1995 he was elected by the membership of Boles Firefighters' Association to the position of Chief.

In April 2000, Chief Casey was offered a position by the Board of Directors for the first Career employee, to serve as Chief of the District. The District currently utilizes a combination of career and reserve personnel to man it's stations and provide outstanding service to it's taxpayers.

Chief Casey is a member of the St. Louis Incident Support Team, providing command support when needed throughout Missouri and portions of Illinois. He is also a member of Task Force 5 Tactical Rescue providing specialized rescue support to Franklin & Jefferson counties. The Franklin County Fire Chief's group, Franklin/ Gasconade Firefighter's Association, and Franklin County Communication Center.

In addition to his duties as Chief, he is the District's Fire Marshal. He continues to be active with the Fire Marshal's Association of Missouri, Franklin County Inspectors, and Franklin County Infrastructure Committee in an effort to standardize water, street, and fire codes in his District and the entire county.

Fire Chief Casey was awarded Fire Chief of the Year by FFAM in 2005 and has received many rewards and certificates for his years of service, training, and dedication to the Boles Fire Protection District.
