Boles Fire District offers several programs to benefit and add to the knowledge of the residents of our District.  We offer several programs including Firefighters Reach Out, Everyone Out (smoke detector program), and Car Seat Installation program.  You can also determine what kind of car seat you will need for your child by using our handy Car Seat Guide.

  Firefighters Reach Out

Firefighters Reach Out Program has been established, free of charge, for residents in the Boles Fire Protection District.  The purpose of the program is to reach out to those citizens who need any special assistance, both medical and physical.  The citizens who sign up for the program will register with the Fire District for any special medical conditions that Emergency Personnel should be aware of in the event of an emergency.  Other qualified citizens include persons that are limited in their activities in their home, due to a medical condition.
Citizens that are not able to get out of their home regularly due to a medical condition can be registered for our home visits.  Once registered for this program, a representative of the Boles Fire District will contact the person regularly to schedule a visit to your home.  The home visits will include checking that everything is well with that person, having their blood pressure checked or their smoke detector battery changed.
Citizens can sign up for this program at any time at Boles station #3 in Labadie.  You may contact the Public Safety Office at 636-742-2515 for more information.

Everyone Out Smoke Detector Program

The Boles Fire Protection District wants to ensure that all of the homes in our District are equipped with a working smoke detector and the citizens understand the importance of maintenance and care of their detectors.  The Everyone Out smoke detector program began in 2006. With this program the Boles Firefighters have been traveling door to door to look for and test smoke alarms, replace the batteries of non-working detectors, and give the citizens a guideline for smoke detector maintenance and proper placement.

Several more will be purchased to complete the task of installing in homes that currently do not have one. More than 35 detectors were installed by members of the department during the past year.

We will offer to test the alarms and replace the battery and show them how to change the batteries themselves. During this visit a courtesy fire safety inspection for fire safety issues will be performed. The result of those visits will be recorded .
We have already visited many homes in our District and replaced hundreds of batteries.  We have also installed many smoke detectors.

Car Seat Installation Program

Several members of the Boles Fire Protection District are certified car seat installers. The certification comes from Safe Kids.  This Program helps to teach and instruct parents on the proper ways to install safety seats in their own vehicles.   With the help of trained fire personnel, the child safety seat is installed while the parents watch.  Then the parents install the seat themselves so they have a good understanding of how to do it.  Anyone can come to Boles Fire Station 1 or Station 2 Monday through Friday 8am to 7pm and get their child safety seat installed.
