Boles Fire
Protection District, formed in 1971, was the first Fire Protection
District in Franklin County, Missouri. Boles Fire District was
formed from the combination of two separate fire departments, Gray
Summit and Labadie. The Gray Summit Volunteer Fire Department was
formed in 1944 while the Labadie Fire Department was formed in 1953.
When the departments combined in 1971, Gray Summit was named Boles
Fire station 1, while Labadie became station 2. In 1972, Station 3
was built in Villa Ridge. Then, in 1973 land was donated to build
Station 4 in St. Albans. In 1985 construction was completed for a
new station in Labadie. The new station was named Station 2 while
the old became Station 5.
